Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– A two-day strategic planning workshop of Bangladesh Bank (BB) concluded at the BRAC Centre for Development Management in Savar on Saturday.

The workshop finalized the central bank’s future action plan in order to achieve the objectives of Strategic Plan 2010-2014.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Atiur Rahman inaugurated the workshop on Friday, with ‘Strengthening Leadership’ as its theme.

Deputy governor Abul Qasem, executive director M Ahsan Ullah, senior advisor M Allah Malik Kazemi, senior economic advisor Hasan Zaman, Bangladesh Krishi Bank chairman and former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled, renowned cultural personality Aly Zaker addressed the workshop at its different sessions.

Officials of the rank of general manager, and the bank supervision expert from the IMF, Glenn Tasky, were also present at the workshop.

“The contemporary issues of core inflation (other than food and fuel), interest rate and exchange rate were discussed at the workshop,” the BB said in a press statement.  

The workshop opined that these are interrelated with each other and are highly influenced by the external events as well, it added.
