BDR, Nasaka hold flag meet in Bandarban

Dhaka, Bangladesh- A zone commander-level meeting between Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and Burmese border guard, Nasaka was held at Chakdhala frontier under Naikhyongchhari Upazila of Bandarban district on Wednesday.

A nine-member team from each side participated in the meeting, according to reports.

Commander of the 15th battalion of BDR, at Naikhyongchhari, Lt Col Shafiul Azam led the Bangladesh side while Col Umong Singh led the Nasaka of Burma, formally known as Myanmar.

BDR lodged a protest for erecting fence adjacent to zero point along frontier ignoring the international laws on boundary, the reports said.

Combat of cross-border smuggling, continued intrusion of Rohingyas and maintaining peace along frontier also discussed in the meeting.
