BDT looses ground against USD

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Bangladesh Taka (BDT) lost ground against the US Dollar (USD) throughout the week, treasury officials said.

Large commercial banks were seen as major buyers in the inter-bank USD/BDT market.

The USD/BDT rates traded around 69.58 levels to start the shorter week after Eid holidays. Over the week, the greenback gained 07 paisa and broke the 69.60 level on Wednesday. On Thursday, BDT weakened the most to test the 69.65 level.
