BDT plunges against US dollar

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Bangladesh Taka (BDT) plunged against the US Dollar during the last week, treasury officials said. 
The greenback strengthened further in direct US Dollar (USD)/Bangladesh Taka (BDT) trading in the inter-bank market. 
Growing demand from the commercial banks helped the USD/BDT rates rise throughout the week. The USD/BDT started the week around 71.50 level to end the week’s trading around 71.59 – 71.65 range.
