Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Bangladesh Taka (BDT) remained under pressure against the US Dollar (USD) throughout the last week on increased demand for the greenback, treasury officials said.
With big ticket payments to be made by some large commercial banks over the early weeks of the month, the supply of USD in the market dried up.
USD/BDT rate that started the week on Sunday at 70.93 level in direct trading touched 71.00 level during the end of the week.
