Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Beximco Limited dominated the week’s top turnover chart for the four straight weeks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
A total of 58.46 million share worth BDT 2.13 billion changing hands during the week of Beximco. Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 426 million.
The week’s closing price of the Beximco share is BDT 35.9. A market lot is 100 shares. Of the total shares – 19.9 per cent in sponsor-directors’ hands, 6.09 per cent in institutional investors’ hands, 8.55 per cent in foreign investors’ hands and 65.46 percent in public hands.
Brokers said that the investors went for Beximco’s share in recent week as the company included in DSE 30 Index once again which called blue chips shares.
It was followed by GP BDT 1.41 billion, Square Pharmaceuticals BDT 7.29 million, Shahjibazar Power Company BDT 591.78 million, Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 530.23 million, Padma Oil Company BDT 457.43 million, Olympic Industries BDT 439.48 million, FAR Chemical BDT 420.14 million, Peninsula Chittagong BDT 302.32 million and Bangladesh Shipping Corporation BDT 294.01 million changing hands.
