Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd (Beximco) dominated the week’s top turnover chart last week on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) that ended on Thursday.
A total of 58.49 million share worth BDT 2.48 billion changing hands during the week. All five trading sessions in the last week, Beximco dominated top turnover chart. Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 497 million.
The week’s closing price of Beximco share was BDT 43.1, registering an increase of 10.23 per cent over the previous week. A market lot is 100 shares.
Of the total shares – only 19.9 percent held by sponsor-directors, 6.09 percent held by institutional investors, foreign investors held 8.55 percent while 65.46 percent share held by public, according to DSE website.
The company listed in the Dhaka bourse – DSE in 1989. The company is belonging to the ‘miscellaneous’ sector under the category of ‘A’.
As per un-audited half yearly accounts ended on June 30, 2014, the company has reported net profit after tax of BDT 263.79 million against BDT 286.85 million for the same period of the previous year.
The other turnover leaders were --- MJL BD BDT 1.66 billion, BSRM Steels BDT 1.35 billion, Beximco Pharma BDT 1.32 billion, GP BDT 1.07 billion Khulna Printing & Paper BDT 1.0 billion, Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 972.23 million, Square Pharma BDT 951.64 million, Golden Son BDT 896.34 million and ACI Limited BDT 766.69 million changing hands.
