Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bexmico Pharma dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in the week that ended Thursday.

A total of 13.85 million shares worth BDT 1.03 billion were changed hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the pharmaceuticals & Chemicals Sector Company was BDT 205.48 million.

The week’s closing price of each Beximco Pharma share was BDT 74.30, registering an increase of 3.34 percent over the previous week.

The company has reported profit after tax for the Jan-15 to June-15 was BDT 1,009.16 million with earning per shares (EPS) of BDT 2.61 as against BDT 724.27 million and BDT 1.88 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

The company disbursed 10 percent cash dividend and 5.0 percent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2014.

The company’s paid-up capital is BDT 3,862.4 million and authorized capital BDT 9,100 million.

Of the total shares – only 13.15 percent held by sponsor-directors, 15.21 percent by institutional investors, 25.29 per cent held by foreign investors and general public held by 46.35 percent, according to DSE website.

The week’s other turnover leaders include Far Chemical Industries with shares worth BDT 598 million were changed hands followed by GP BDT 567 million, GP BDT 553 million.

Multinational cement maker, Lafarge Surma Cement also came to the list as shares worth BDT 543 million were changed hands followed by Square Pharma BDT 484 million, Brac Bank BDT 464 million, BSRM Steels BDT 347 million and IDLC Finance BDT 310 million and Aman Feed worth BDT 304 million changed hands during the week.
