Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– A deputy director general (DDG) level border conference of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) begins on Monday (Nov 5) in Sylhet.
A 14-member delegation of Bangladesh will be led by DDG of BGB Brig Gen Abu Sayeed Khan at the four-day conference, while a 21- member Indian delegation will be headed by IG of BSF Meghalaya frontier Sudesh Kumar, a BGB press statement said in the capital Dhaka on Saturday.
The Bangladesh delegation will include sector commanders of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Comilla, Rangamati and Khagrachhari,staff officers of BGB headquarters and concerned officials of home and foreign ministries. 
On the other hand, IGs of Guwahati, Tripura, and Mizoram and Kasar frontiers, concerned DIGs and representatives of Indian home ministry and Bureau of Narcotics Control will be in the Indian delegation.
The meeting will discuss various issues, including killing of Bangladeshi innocent people along the border, trespassing into Bangladesh from India, and kidnapping of Bangladeshis.
Besides, it will focus on stopping smuggling of contraband items including liquor, Phensidyl, cannabis and other narcotics into Bangladesh from India, all kinds of infrastructural development within 150 yards along the border lines, repair work to protect riverbanks and issues to enhance mutual trust.
