Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) is going to hold a national seminar on ‘Insurance Act 2010 & its Impact’ on February 7 this year.
The seminar is the first of its kind after the Insurance Act 2010 came into effect and also in the history of the association, the BIA said, adding that the seminar venue is Windy Town of Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital Dhaka.
Finance Minister AMA Muhuth is expected to be the chief guest in the colloquium where country’s lone actuary and Chairman of Insurance Development Regulatory Authority (IDRA) M. Shefaque Ahmed will speak as the main discussant.
AK Azizul Huq Chaudhury (chartered insurer), member of BIA executive committee and managing director of Bangladesh General Insurance Company, will present the keynote paper in the seminar.
The government passed two laws — Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) Act 2010 and Insurance Act (IA) 2010 — in March 2010.
