Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Kevin John Steele has resigned as the chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines showing health grounds.

“I have resigned on medical grounds. I have got tuberculosis and a mild stroke and doctor advised me to cut down my hours…it is not possible for me to take so much pressure from the Board,” Mr. Kevin was quoted by New Age, a local newspaper, as saying.

Biman general manager (public relations) Khan Mosharraf Hossain told media that Kevin’s resignation would be effective from April 17.

With the resignation, the British aviation expert will end his one year service in the national flag carrier. He joined Biman in March 2013 for two years for a monthly salary of around BDT 1.90 million.
