Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has asked the government to hand over power to a non-party and neutral administration for holding a fair election.
“Transfer power to a non-party and neutral administration paving the way for holding a credible election, or else, the consequence for you (govt) will be disastrous,” she said after exchanging Eid greetings with a cross-section of people at the city’s Ladies’ Club in the capital Dhaka on Monday.
“The next general election will have to be held ensuring the participation of all major political parties in it,” Khaleda said warning that no force other than people can keep this government in power.
Painting a gloomy picture of the country, the BNP chairperson said people are not safe under this regime as the law and order situation in the country has been on the downslide apart from worsening poverty and growing jobless rate.
“All we want is justice,” the opposition leader said urging all the political parties and the people from all walks of life to wage a vigorous movement to oust this government.
