Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday announced a month-long demonstration program demanding restoration of the caretaker government system.
She announced the fresh protest programs from a mammoth rally of the 18-party alliance in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital Dhaka.
Under the programs, the 18-party alliance will stage demonstrations on June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8 and July 15 to press home their demands. 
Opposition leader said the government itself has to reinstate the non-party caretaker system as it had removed it from the constitution.
She also demanded immediate release of the opposition leaders including BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The former prime minister in her nearly hour-long address touches different issues including the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi and Saudi Arabia diplomat and blasted the government for its failure to arrest the killers.
Front-ranking leaders of the BNP and its allies also addressed the rally and asked to government to immediately restore the annulled caretaker government system.
