Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia is leading the party’s third road march towards Khulna from Dhaka Saturday morning, aiming to drum up public support for reinstating the caretaker government system.
The road march comes over a month after the second one towards Chapainawabganj.
The road march began with nearly 800 vehicles carrying members of the four-party alliances from the capital, Dhaka.
The cross country caravan will pass through Pabna, Kushtia, Jhenidah and Jessore before reaching Khulna.
Khaleda, leader of the opposition in the Parliament, will stay at Jessore Circuit House Saturday night and resume the march towards Khulna on Sunday.
On the way, Khaleda is scheduled to address three roadside rallies at Dasuria in Pabna, and in Jhenidah and Jessore district towns and address a public meeting in Kushtia on Saturday.
The two-day program will end with a public meeting on Khulna Circuit House premises at 3:00pm on Sunday.
