Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia returned home on Friday morning from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah.
A flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the opposition leader reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital Dhaka around 8:55 am, her media wing member Shamsuddin Dider said.
Several hundred leaders and activists of the BNP and its front organisations, including party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, received Khaleda Zia at the airport.
On August 8, the BNP chairperson went to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Saudi King to perform Umrah.
During her stay in Saudi Arabia as a royal guest, the BNP chief performed holy Umrah, offered Jiarat at the holy Rowja Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM).
Khaleda also performed various prayers and religious activities at Kaba Sharif in Makkah and Masjid-e-Nabvi and prayed for the peace, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh and its people as well as the unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.
