BNP-led four-party alliance to form liaison committee

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led four-party alliance has decided to form liaison committee at secretary general level to finalize their next course of anti-government movement.

The decision came at a meeting of top leaders of components of the 4-party alliance, held at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office in Dhaka Monday night with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the chair.

Emerging from the 1-and-half-hour-long meeting, Jamaat-e-Islami`s acting secretary general ATM Azharul Islam told reporters that the programs of the next movement will be announced shortly.

The movement will be launched on various national issues, particularly for restoration of caretaker government system, he added.

BJP chairman Andalib Rahman, MP, who was at the meeting told reporters that at this stage programs like road march and long march were discussed but tougher programs, including hartal can not be ruled out.

The alliance leaders informed that more meetings will be held to finalize the programs within two or three days.

Jamaat acting Ameer Mokbul Ahmed, IOJ secretary general Abdul Latif Nezami, Khelafat Majlish Ameer Mohammad Ishaque and BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir were present at the meeting.
