Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- BNP standing committee will sit tonight to finalise the party’s post-hartal course of action to materialise its demand for non-party polls-time government.
During the meeting, , the highest policy-making body of the party is expected to discuss Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s invitation to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for a dialogue on the election-time government.
On Saturday, the prime minister invited Khaleda over phone to Gono Bhaban, the official residence of the prime minister, for talks over polls-time government.
Khaleda will chair the meeting that is scheduled to begin at 9:30pm at her Gulshan office in the capital Dhaka, according to the party insiders.
Meanwhile, the BNP-led 18-party combine-enforced 60-hour shutdown that started from 6:00am Sunday is going on amid some stray incidents across the country. So far nine people have been killed in the hartal violence.
The opposition combine called the general strike, generally known as hartal, to press home its key demand for all-party polls-time government during the election.
