Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has submitted its income tax returns to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) showing an income of BDT 28.9 million and expenditure BDT 11 million during 2010-12. 
A ten-member team of the party visited NBR and submitted details of income and expenditure of the party to the newly formed tax zone-15 on Sunday. 
The country’s main opposition party’s net assets were shown at BDT 67.15 million. 
Adviser to the BNP chairperson Ahmed Azam Khan said the party is regularly submitting its income tax returns after being registered with the Election Commission (EC). He said it is important for a political party to submit details of income and expenditure to the government to maintain transparency.
