Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) declared a demonstration programme for Monday across the country protesting sending its three high-up leaders including BNP’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to jail.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP’s joint secretary general, made the announcement through a press briefing at the party's central office at Naya Paltan in Dhaka this afternoon.

On Sunday, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court rejected bail petitions of three BNP leaders and booked into jail in connection with three separate cases lodged with Ramna police station.

The other leaders are: BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and its Dhaka city unit’s member secretary Abdus Salam.
The BNP also demanded immediate release of their leaders.
