London, England (BBN) – The Bank of England (BoE), in its Monetary Policy Committee meeting on Thursday, decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 0.5 percent on concerns that the UK recovery was still fragile. 
The European Central Bank (ECB) also left its main refinancing rate unchanged at 1.0 percent on Thursday, according to reports. 
Earlier in the week, the Reserve Bank of Australia left its key interest rate unchanged at 4.50 percent on Tuesday on lower inflation data in the Australian economy.
