BRAC mourns loss of its staff in Afghanistan

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- BRAC has expressed deep shock at the death of its official, who was killed in an attack by armed men, in Afghanistan.
Four armed men broke into BRAC staff residence in the western province of Ghor in Afghanistan on Thursday that led to the tragic loss of life of its Area Manager Mohammad Mohiuddin, aged 41 years, the BRAC said in a statement.
BRAC leadership extended heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, who left behind his wife and two children at Fulbaria in Mymensingh.
Mohiuddin had served BRAC for 14 years as a sector specialist in Agriculture. He had been working at BRAC in Afghanistan since 2009 and helped many Afghan families improve their lives through his work in community based livelihood improvement project in Ghor. 
He recently started working for a new project on water management, which has a partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock in Afghanistan. 
The BRAC pledged to do everything, they can to assist his family during this difficult time, according to the statement. 
The BRAC said they are closely monitoring developments in Afghanistan with great concern as the overall security situation in the country is increasingly deteriorating.
