Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - A fourteen-member British trade team from Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce will arrive in the capital Dhaka on Monday on a five-day visit.
Members of the delegation include chemicals, technology, IT, healthcare, food and investment specialists with the aim to take the growing United Kingdom (UK)-Bangladesh trade ties to an elevated level by interacting with local counterparts and identifying areas of future collaboration, a British High Commission announcement said in Dhaka.
Commenting on the visit, Mr Kevin Ringham, Head of UK Trade & Investment within the British High Commission in Dhaka, said: “The UK is a strong trading nation with an excellent track record in exporting a vast array of goods and services and in view of the deepening relations between Britain and Bangladesh and a growing interest among British Bangladeshis to do business in Bangladesh, this trade delegation will not only secure existing ties between our two countries but also contribute to the economies of Bangladesh and Britain.”
A “Meet the Trade Team” session is also being arranged at the Westin Hotel in the capital Dhaka from 1:30pm to 4:00 pm on October 4, in which local business and media have been invited, according to the announcement.
The trade team will leave Dhaka on October 9.
The UK is the third single largest destination for exports from Bangladesh. Trade between the two countries is well established and has grown steadily year on year.
