BSCCL’s earnings soars 133pc in Q3

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL) has posted 133 per cent year-on-year rise in earnings in third quarter (Q3) for January-March 2016 period, said an official disclosure on Monday.
The state-run telecommunication service provider has reported Q3 earnings per share (EPS) for January-March, 2016 period at BDT 0.21 as against BDT 0.09 for the same period last year.
In nine month for July, 2015-March, 2016, EPS was BDT 0.48 as against BDT 44 for July, 2014-March, 2015.
Net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was BDT 1.69 for July, 2015-March, 2016 as against BDT 0.29 for July, 2014-March, 2015.
Net asset value (NAV) per share was BDT 24.94 as of March 31, 2016 and BDT 24.46 as of June 30, 2015.
BSCCL is an International Long Distance Communications and International Internet Gateway (IIG) operator that provides various Telecommunications services through the Submarine Cable network.
The company was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2012. The telecommunication sector company belongs to the “A” category.
The government owns 73.84 per cent stake in the BSCCL, while institutional investors 10.16 per cent, foreign investors 0.40 percent and the general public 15.60 per cent as on March 31, 2016.
The company disbursed 10 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2015.
The company’s share closed at BDT 104.90 on Sunday on the DSE.
