Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bulgaria has opened a honourary consulate in Bangladesh aiming to strengthen political, economic, commercial and cultural ties with the East European country appointing Tanvir Islam as the first Consul General.
“The consulate is expected to exploit possibilities of enhanced ties particularly in the field of trade and investment between the two countries,” Commerce Secretary Mohammad Golam Hossain told opening ceremony of the consulate while Bulgarian ambassador for Bangladesh Borislav Kostov was present.
The commerce secretary also said the enhanced ties would pave ways for export of Bangladeshi manpower, readymade garments, leather and leather products, jute products, ceramics and pharmaceuticals to the East European country.
