Rangoon, Burma (BBN) – Burma will issue 10,000-kyat denomination of bank note, which will go into circulation on June 15.
The Central Bank of Myanmar has announced it would keep all other existing currency notes and coins as legal tender, according to state media reports. 
The new 10,000 Kyat banknote is another larger-value denomination of currency notes to be introduced nearly three years after currency notes of 5,000-Kyat were put into circulation on October 1, 2009.
Currently, 11 kinds of bank notes in circulation in Burma, officially known as Myanmar, which are 50-pyas, 1-Kyat, 5-Kyat, 10-Kyat, 20-Kyat, 50-Kyat, 100- Kyat, 200-Kyat, 500-Kyats, 1,000-Kyat and 5,000-Kyat over the period of the past several decades.
