Call money rates go up, USD strengthens against BDT

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The inter-bank call money market rates shot up during the last week on increased demand ahead of the holy Ramadan. 
Call money rate that started the week’s trading at around 5.00 percent, rose by the end of the week to trade around 8.00 percent.
On the other hand, the US Dollar (USD) further strengthened against the Bangladesh Taka (BDT) this week. USD/BDT rate that closed the previous week trading below 69.44 level, rose to trade above 69.45 level by the end of the week.
