Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The overall turnover in the call money market increased on Wednesday ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival, treasury officials said.
The overall turnover in the call money market rose to BDT 49.82 billion on the day from BDT 42.63 billion of the previous working day, according to the central bank latest statistics.
The call rate ranged between 5.25 per cent and 6.75 per cent on the day unchanged from the previous level. But most of the deals were made at rates between 5.50 per cent and 6.50 per cent on the day, market operators said.
On the other hand, the banks quoted the US dollar single rate at BDT 77.80 unchanged from the previous level.
