Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Trading and official activities on both bourses resumes today (Monday) after a five-day Eid-ul-Fitr vacation, officials said.

The trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will begin at 10:30 am and continue till 2:30 pm while the office will begin at 9:30 am and continue till 5.30 pm.

Trading and official activities on both bourses remained closed from June 13 to June 17 on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, including weekly and special holidays.

The premier bourse performed well on June 12, the last trading session before Eid vacation.

DSEX, benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 38.78 points to settle at 5,365.

The two other indices — the DS30 index and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) – also followed the suit to close at 1,965 and 1,238 points, after advancing 5.23 points and 9.72 points respectively.

Trading activities also increased slightly as total turnover on the DSE amounting to BDT 4.57 billion on June 12, against BDT 4.50 billion over the previous session.

The port city’s bourse CSE also closed higher with its CSE All Share Price Index – CAPSI-advancing 115 points to settle at 16,511 and Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gaining 69 points to finish at 9984 points.

The port city bourse traded 3.27 million shares and mutual fund units worth more than BDT 133 million in turnover.
