Central bank announces office hours for banks during Ramadan

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The central bank of Bangladesh has changed the office hours of all scheduled banks for the ensuing holy month of Ramadan, officials said.

The scheduled banks will remain open from 9:30 am to 4.00 pm from Sunday to Thursday including the prayer break from 2:15 pm to 2:30 pm.  The transaction hours will be from 9:30 am to 2:15 pm.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular in this connection on Monday and asked the chief executives of all banks to follow the changed office hours during Ramadan.

During the prayer break, transactions will be done through internal coordination as was done before Ramadan, the circular said.
