Chittagong chamber seeks time extension for submission of tax return

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry has requested the finance minister to extend the deadline for submission of income tax return by October 31.

The deadline should be extended in the interest of increasing new taxpayers in the wake of announcement of present government to increase the number of new tax payers to 0.5 million this year, MA Latif, the chamber president, said in a statement.

The deadline to submit income tax return is September 30.
