Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Citibank, N.A., Bangladesh organised its annual “Gaan e Gaan e Gunijon Shongbordhona” program in Dhaka, hosted annually to honour the musical and cultural legends of Bangladesh.
This year, Citi honoured Subir Nandi for his dedication, talent and outstanding service in preserving the cultural heritage of Bangladesh and for the music industry as a whole.
Rashed Maqsood, managing director and Citi country officer for Bangladesh along with Mahbub Jamil, chairman, Singer Bangladesh presented the artiste with a crest and a portrait on behalf of Citi. Rokia Afzal Rahman, former advisor to the caretaker government and renowned artiste Ferdousi Rahman, presented Subir Nandi with a bouquet at the end of the program.
Nandi who shared the stage with veteran artist Kanak Chapa, regaled the audience of policy makers, ambassadors, artistes and Citi clients with a performance of timeless modern songs.
Since the first “Gaan e Gaan e Gunijon Shongbordhona” in 2004, Citi has honoured artistes of repute such as Nilufar Yasmin, Farida Parveen, Feroza Begum, Sanjida Khatun, Shorab Hossain, Ferdousi Rahman, Sabina Yasmin and Rizwana Chowdhury Bannya.
