Citycell signs deal with Mercantile Bank for mobile banking service

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Citycell, a mobile phone operator, recently signed an agreement with Mercantile Bank Limited for Mobile Banking Service.

Under the deal, Citycell acts as a facilitator of mobile and distribution network for Mercantile Bank Mobile Banking Service.

The signing ceremony was held at Citycell Head Office, Mohakhali, Dhaka. Mehboob Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer of Citycell and A. K. M. Shahidul Haque, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mercantile Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

The signing of Mobile Banking agreement is a milestone in the area of Mobile Financial Services, officials said, adding that it has immense potential in Bangladesh where access to traditional banking services is limited especially in the rural areas.
