Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister G M Quader has asked commercial banks to offer every benefit to expatiates’ in order to encourage them in using formal means of remittance transfer.

“Our expatriates go to the hundi traders for sending their hard-earned money as they provide some special facilities and favours,” the minister reportedly said adding that banking service providers need to offer the same if they want to attract them.

The minister said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Janata Bank’s automated NRB booth at the Zia International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday. The online booth has been equipped to provide round the clock online banking services directly connected to the banks NRB branch in Motijheel.

The ceremony was presided over by Chairman of Janata Bank Limited Suhel Ahmed Choudhury while Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director SM Aminur Rahman delivered welcome speech.

In explaining the latest establishment Suhel Ahmed Choudhury in his speech said his bank as a government owned bank aims to provide its customers (specially NRB’s) every available facilities powered by modern technologies.

NRB’s on their arrival would able to deposit all the amount they bring along in the airport NRB booth and would feel safe on their way to home, he said adding that they will able to withdraw their money from all the Janata Bank’s NRB booths in different parts of the city.
