Commercial banks asked to work extra hours

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The central bank of Bangladesh asked all banks concerned to keep open after their scheduled works on Sunday and Monday for smooth payment of salaries and allowances for garment workers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

The banks have been directed to keep open subjected to taking adequate security, a central bank circular said.

The three-day government holiday on the occasion of Eid begins on Tuesday.
