Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The journalists will hold rallies across the country on Tuesday demanding capital punishment to the war criminals and protesting the incidents of attacks on media workers by the anti-liberation forces on Friday last.
In Dhaka, the main rally will be held in front of Jatiya Press Club at 11.00 am on the day to be organised by Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).
The affiliated unions and district press clubs have been asked to hold similar rallies at the same time on that day at their respective areas.
BFUJ president Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, secretary general Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan and president of DUJ Omar Faruque and general secretary Shaban Mahmud have requested all journalists' organisations of the country to hold the rallies successfully.
The union leaders also requested the editors of different dailies, heads of different television channels and senior journalists to attend the rally.
