Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Minister for Industry and Trade of Czech Republic Martin Kuba will arrive in the capital Dhaka on Sunday aiming to boost bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries.
 
“We’ll discuss with the Czech minister promotion of bilateral business relations between the two countries as well as to increase our export there,” a commerce ministry senior official said.
There will be a breakfast meeting between the delegation led by Czech minister with the high officials of the ministry of commerce (MoC) and the ministry of industries (MoI) on March 11. 
Bangladesh could boost its export to Commonwealth independent states (CIS)- former Soviet republics-through the Czech Republic and Belarus.
There is a huge demand for Bangladeshi garment items, handicrafts, jute and jute goods in the Czech Republic and other European countries.
Of the emerging democracies in Central and Eastern Europe, the Czech Republic has one of the most developed industrialized economies. 
The principal industries of Czech Republic are heavy and general machine-building, iron and steel production, metalworking, chemical production, electronics, transportation equipment, textiles, glass, brewing, ceramics and pharmaceuticals. Its main agricultural products are sugarbeets, fodder roots, potatoes and wheat.
