Delwar laid to rest at his ancestral home in Manikganj

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain was laid to rest in state honour at his family graveyard at Khirai Pachuria in Ghior upazila of Manikganj Saturday afternoon.
He was buried after the seventh and the last namaj-e-janaza after zohr prayers at Ghior Government College premises at 3:30pm following a six janaza, including five in Dhaka.
Earlier in the morning, Delwar’s body was taken to his village home by a pickup van.
The coffin was first taken to Government Devandra College at about 11:15am where thousands of people paid their homage to the senior politician, who died in a Singapore hospital on Wednesday at the age of 78.
The BNP secretary general Delwar was admitted to Square Hospital in 
Dhaka in critical condition and was kept at ICU with life support on 
March 3.
He was taken to Singapore by Air Ambulance and admitted to Mount 
Elizabeth Hospital on March 4.
Delwar was elected parliament member five times, and he served as chief whip in the fifth, sixth and eighth parliament. He was the opposition chief whip in the seventh parliament.
