Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The fourth edition of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh show held this month received a very good response from visitors, the organisers said in a statement.
More than 1,800 visitors representing over 490 companies visited the 2-day event, reports the fibre2fashion.
The companies that were represented included some important names in the denim business like Gap, Levis, Uniqlo, H&M, S.Oliver, Li & Fung, HEMA, Hermes, OTTO, O’stin, Inditex, Mondial, New Times, Next, Perry Ellis, PVH, Redpoint, Espirit, etc.
Several reputed garment companies from Bangladesh were also there among the buyers.
All the 28 exhibiting companies said they were quite happy with the inquiries generated at the show.
FashionIM, the fashion show in denim, was a huge success with about 400 invitees attending the same.
The presentation of collections by Vicunha (Brazil), Envoy (Bangladesh) and Bhaskar (India) were highly appreciated.
Some of the key seminars that took place at the event included ‘Profitable environmentally sustainable denim washing’ organised by GIZ, ‘Bridging research in cellulose chemistry for denim applications’ by Christian Schimpher from Acticell, Austria and the ‘Re-definition of Denim’ by Zafer Bozdag, Turkey.
A design competition was also organised, where students from various Bangladesh universities participated.
Three students were awarded trophies for their designs.
During the event, Denimsandjeans.com also announced the launch of their unique online initiative – De-Brands online show – the first global online denim show which will go online this week.
