Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Mihin Lanka (Pvt) Limited, a low cost airline of Sri Lanka, will launch direct services between Dhaka and Colombo from December 2, this year.

Carrying the slogan ‘Enjoy Mihin Hospitality on board with meals at no cost’, the Lankan airline will operate three weekly flights on every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with Airbus A320/A321.

Its Airbus A320 is configured with 177 seats, while A321 with 210 seats. Flights will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11:25am and depart at 12:25pm.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the airline Kapila Chandrasena said: “We’re very happy to be able to start direct services to the capital of Bangladesh. Mihin Lanka flights will connect three SAARC capitals — Dhaka, Colombo and Male.”

Wings Aviation Ltd (GSA Mihin Lanka for Bangladesh) Executive Director Mahbubul Anam said: “We are glad that Mihin Lanka has decided to operate direct flights to Bangladesh. This will cut down the total time to reach Colombo from about 13 hours to three and a half hours.”
