Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The mayoral election of bifurcated Dhaka City Corporation and Chittagong City Corporation will be held on April 28, the chief election official announced Wednesday.
“The election to Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation and Chittagong City Corporation will be held on April 28,” said Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad.
He was announcing the schedule of the mayoral election during a press conference at his office in Agargaon of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
The last date of submission of nomination papers is March 29.
“The nomination papers will be scrutinised on April 1 and 2 while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 9,” the CEC added.
