Dhaka, Moscow discuss cooperation in gas, oil, nuclear power plant

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Foreign Minister Dipu Moni had a meeting with chief executives of State Atomic Energy Corporation ‘Rosatom, the largest oil and gas exploration company Gazprom in Moscow.

In the bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom Miller Alexey Borisovich, the recent developments in the negotiation in engaging Gazprom in the modernization of the power plants built by the Russians immediately after Bangladesh’s independence, enhancing efficiency of the existing gas fields and in the gas and oil exploration in Bangladesh were discussed, a foreign ministry press statement said on Friday.

In a separate meeting with Sergey V. KIRIENKO, General Director of Rosatom and former Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, recent developments on the inter-governmental agreement on cooperation Concerning the Construction of a Nuclear Power Plant in the Territory of Bangladesh were reviewed.
