Dhaka stocks benchmark index break 7,000-mark in last week

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The major indices moved up considerably over the last week, with the benchmark Dhaka Stock Exchange General Index (DGEN) breaking the 7,000 mark for the first time in its history.

The benchmark index added 193.30 points or 2.80 percent over the week to close at 7,097.38. Total turnover stood at BDT 110.1 billion (USD 1.6 billion) while average daily turnover for the week was BDT 22.0 (USD 319.1 million).
