Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Dhaka stocks closed higher for the third running session Thursday, the last trading day of the week with turnover improved slightly as investors poured fresh fund amid optimism.
The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange ended at 4,205.13, gaining 25.74 points or 0.61 per cent as the market started with a positive note.
Total turnover value improved to Tk 2.27 billion, up by 7 per cent from previous session’s Tk 2.12 billion.
Out of 268 issues traded, 186 advanced, 62 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
A total of 0.070 million trades were executed with 61.64 million trading volume.
Beximco Limited continued to dominate the top turnover chart with shares worth Tk 141.01 million changing hands.
Modern Dyeing was the day’s highest gainer posting 10 per cent rise while Padma Oil was the worst loser, slumping by 30.52 per cent following its price adjustment after record date.
In the last three consecutive sessions, the DGEN gained almost 50 points.
