Dhaka stocks continue to slide this week

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Dhaka stocks continued to slide amid volatility over the week, market operators said.

The benchmark Dhaka Stock Exchange General index (DGEN) shed off 598.14 points or 8.39 percent to close the week at 6,527.19.

Given the recent volatility of the capital market, the Ministry of Finance has taken drastic measures to ensure that the concerned authorities of State Owned Enterprises (SOE) offload additional shares on an immediate basis to stabilize the market.
