Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Dhaka stocks ended almost flat on Wednesday after two sessions of record gain, as late profit booking most sectors wiped off early gains, market operators said. 
The market opened with a positive note, gaining more than 90 points in the first half and it began to decline on profit booking in banking, telecommunications and financial institutions amid volatility and finally closed only 2.83 points gain.
The benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN) ended at 8171.57 with a rise of 0.03 per cent or 2.83 points.
The broader All Shares Price Index (DSI) up by 0.03 percent or 1.87 points to 6779.30. The DSE-20 Index comprising blue chips was moved up by 1.23 percent or 60.28 points to 4962.93. 
Total turnover was BDT 16.2 billion on Wednesday, 3.6 percent lower than Tuesday’s value. Telecommunication, comprising of Grameenphone alone, lost 5.0 percent on the day after gaining 34 percent in the previous two sessions. Banks closed 0.76 percent higher while featuring heavily in the top turnover list.
