Dhaka stocks gain for second consecutive day

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka stocks went up for the second consecutive session with the DGEN gained by 2.21 percent or 87.25 points to close at 4,164.96 points on Thursday.
Both DSI and DSE-20 were up by 2.12 percent and 1.34 percent respectively, according to the Dhaka stock exchange statistics.
All the sectors witnessed gain on the day. Among the major sectors non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) gained by 4.19 percent on Thursday, followed by Telecommunications 2.19 percent and Power 1.98 percent.  Banks and Pharmaceuticals gained by 1.64 percent and 1.31 percent respectively. 
Thursday’s total turnover value stood at BDT 1.86 billion, 7.9 percent lower than last session’s turnover value. 
Grameenphone topped the turnover chart on the day with total turnover value of BDT 108.0 million, followed by Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited with a turnover of BDT 92.1 million.
