Dhaka stocks gain further Sunday for second consecutive session

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Dhaka stocks gained on Sunday for the second consecutive session, market operators said.
 
The benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN) rose 15.92 points or 0.24 per cent to close 6,556.52 pints. The broader All Shares Price Index (DSI) advanced 14.46 points or 0.27 percent while DSE-20 retraced 18.47 points (-0.46 percent).
Among the major sectors banks and telecommunication lost 0.75 percent and 2.68 percent respectively while non-banking financial institutions, pharmaceuticals and power gained 0.93 percent, 0.53 percent, and 2.79 percent respectively. 
Total turnover value stood at BDT 12.9 billion, 6.7 percent higher than Thursday’s value. BD Finance was the biggest loser (-11.7 percent) following their corporate declaration of 22 percent stock dividend. Titas Gas topped the turnover chart with turnover value of BDT 658.7 million, according to reports.
