Dhaka stocks gain further Thursday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka stocks continued to gain on Thursday for the second consecutive session, market operators said.

Dhaka Stock Exchange Index (DGEN) advanced 102.75 points (+1.64 percent). All Shares Price Index (DSI) and DSE-20 gained 1.63 percent and 1.53 percent respectively.

All the major sectors including banks (0.51 percent), non-banking financial institutions (2.41 percent), telecommunication (4.26 percent) and power (0.99 percent) gained on the day.

Turnover value stood at BDT 10.5 billion, which was 39.9 percent higher than Wednesday’s value.

Fidelity Assets was the biggest gainer following their corporate declaration of 15 percent stock dividend. Peoples leasing topped the turnover chart with turnover value of BDT 537.5 million.
