Dhaka stocks open positive

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Trading on the country’s premier bourse started with a positive note, maintaining previous session uptrend.

After 30 minutes of trading, the benchmark General Index, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange surged 21 points or 0.50 per cent to stand at 4,200.

However, turnover is slow as it stands at Tk 194 million after 30 minutes of trading.

Of the issues traded, 121 advanced, 21 declined and 17 remained unchanged till the report was filed at about 11am.

Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 345 million changing hands.

Earlier, Wednesday, the DGEN gained 28 points.
