Dhaka stocks open with flying mode

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Dhaka stocks opened on Wednesday with flying start like previous day, spurred by continued buying pressure from institutions.

In first hour of the trade, the benchmark DGEN index soars 2.35 per cent or 177.25 points to close at 7689.34, hitting highest 7814 in the morning.

On Tuesday, it gained abnormally 1012 points or 15 per cent – its highest ever single-day gain-- to end at 7512, a day after crash. Institutional accounted for 80 per cent of the total buying. Analysts termed the gain abnormal, which was not sustainable.
